Day passes Frenchmans Reef

I called last week about a day pass. The rate the agent gave was half the "going room rate". The day that we would be there this meant $137.00 plus tax or from what I have read you can just use the beach, rent chairs and umbrellas too. We decided not to do the day pass because of the walk from the hotel to the beach. Now this was for the main hotel Frenchman's Reef not Morning Star or the Villas.

This is a great website with pictures, www dot oyster dot com

We are leaving Saturday on the Dream and will be there next Tuesday. We plan just to go and hang on the beach for the day.

Hi. I got married at the Marriott Frenchmans Reef in 2007. It is so beautiful there, just beware if your afraid if iguanas dont get off the ship as they have tons of them on the property and elsewhere on the island. Before I got married at the resort, my husband and I visited the hotel twice. We just took a island taxi to the resort and got dropped off and walked right in. It's all open air, we just walked in and asked the front desk if we could take a look around as we were thinking of getting married there. They told us no problem and told us how to get down to the beach. Nobody asked us we if we had a day pass, I am pretty sure the beaches there are public beaches so no need for a day pass. Not sure if they changed the way they do things there, but I highly recommend going to the beach at this resort!! We loved having our wedding at this resort!! Hope you have a great beach day!!

As Betsy's Mom mentioned I have never heard of them offering a day pass. However, all beaches in the USVI are open to the public and you do not need a pass to use the beach, rent a chair, or eat in the resturants.

Frenchman's Reef will be closed May 1st- Sept 31st, 2011 for a major refit. $45 million being spent to redo the hotel, rooms and add another pool to the pool deck. They are finally going to take away the "canal" that currently connects the two pools- thankfully. Also redoing and moving the pool bar.

Here is a link to some of the improvements: http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1298946/000095012310094038/c07021exv99w2.htm
