NCL to Bermuda and dining on board

It has been a few years since I sailed NCL to Bermuda and I can't remember about meals in port.

since the Bermuda run is quite different from most cruises in that they go and stay there then come back so you are in port there for days, are all the meals on the ship the same as they would be on a more traditional, port/cruise, port/cruise sort of thing?

Or do they scale back meals and activities on board the whole time you are in port?

It has been a year and a half since I went to Bermuda, so I may not be totally up to date. But in general I did not feel that things were scaled back any more than they are in the more traditional cruise with several ports. If you look at the schedule you are actually only in port like 3 days. Any day a ship is in port is at least somewhat scaled back--there are just not that many people on board. But it was not scaled back to the point where it felt odd or like there was nothing to do. I think only one MDR was open for lunch. But they still had bands that played by the pool in the afternoon, and a few onboard activities.

I agree that the trip has a bit of a different "feel" to it than other cruises. It is a bit more relaxing as there is not the into port/rush out to excursions (and then all back at the same time) dynamic that happens on the port intensive cruise. All in all, there don't seem to be as many people around because there are just not as many situations where everyone is trying to do something at the same time. It is really mroe like a hotel.

The meals seemed to me to be about the same--there were still the dress up night (if your want), the lobster night, the chocolate buffet night etc.

Hope this is somewhat helpful. Perhaps this will kick back up and someone will respond who has been more recently.

It is pretty much the same as a regular cruise in that during the day at port there is not much activities going on. In the evenings, they still have entertainment after dinner (no casino or shops open) with music and shows.

The meals are the same as well.

We were there last year on the Spirit from Boston and I would say that there were the same amount of activities and the food was the same as sea days. Food is so expensive on the island that were always back for dinners and then sometimes wandered a bit more after dinner. What a beautiful, romantic place...enjoy your cruise :)
