First cruise on Allure.. lots of questions!!

Recommended Posts

I will be going on the Allure for the first time on September 18. I am going on it for my honeymoon. We are taking the Eastern Caribbean cruise. I would like any and all information about this cruise. Things you liked, didnt like. Any tips. If you can tell me about the specialty restaurants, which ones there are, what sorta food they serve, and the price to eat at them? Did you eat the cupcakes, coffee, or hotdogs? What all places to eat are free? What shows do they offer? Should I see all shows, or are there any to skip? Anyone go to the casino? My cabin is on the 12th deck, cant remember the exact # right now but it is about 3 away from the aquatheatre. Anyone stayed in one of those rooms? Was the view good? When can you start booking your shows/restaurants. Any other information you can tell me about the cruise is appreciated!!

Thanks!!:D:o

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! :) We will also be on that cruise and are super excited!!:)

I love to read all the reviews here and on the member reviews section of the main site, get a lot of good tips that way!

Here is a link to all of the specialty restaurants and cost

If you enjoy long narrative reviews with pictures do read the one by QTMichele Here, the Live report from Barbi Here and the TPR report Here. There are lots of great reviews out there but these will get you started and give you lots of valuable info!

See ya onboard! :D

We sailed on the Allure in Feb., and absolutely loved everything about it. We had a boardwalk balcony on the 11th deck and thought the location was awesome! I liked it better than our usual ocean balcony cabins...more to see!

My best advice would be to enjoy all of the unique "neighborhoods" and spaces on the ship. Enjoy a roast beef sandwich, and an evening walk in Central park! Spend time on the boardwalk and in the peaceful solarium. See all of the shows (pre-book), spend some time in the clubs and enjoy the fabulous musicians on board. Look for the little details that make this ship so spectacular, especially the art! Try the special restaurants. We ate in Chops and Giovannis and loved both! Spend some time chatting with the crew and other passengers(even though it's you honeymoon) ;). Such lovely people onboard. The crew we had the pleasure of meeting had such interesting stories of their home countries and what brought them to the Allure. You will have the time of your life. Soak it all in, try and participate in everything that interests you, and even the things that don't :D...I can't wait to cruise the Allure again! These boards will give you detailed info so read away! Learn as much as you can to make the most of your trip, but leave some room for spontaneity and surprises!

One thing you should do is tell your TA that it is your honeymoon. There is a party for you where you get to meet others who just got married as well. You can get a pic of you and the Capt most of the time unless the Capt is busy he comes to it for this purpose.

Bring your camera. These memories will last a lifetime. Congrats on the wedding.

Love the Park Cafe for lunch (great roast beef sandwiches and salads). Loved the Samba Grill (an extra $25/person and worth every penny). Don't miss the aqua show. And go up to the pool deck at night and enjoy the hot tubs. Its very quiet and relaxing up there after the shows.
