Curacao or Bonaire???

Hi, We have a choice of either Curacao or Bonaire. We have never been to either. Half of the group likes to snorkel, the other half is elderly and likes to sightsee and shop.

 

Which would you recommend, and why?

Let the snorkelers go to Bonaire, which is absolutely snorkel paradise, just not touristic.

Let the shoppers go to Curacao, and hit Willemstad in Otrabanda and Riffort, they have a blast :D

Snorkeling in Bonaire is amazing. It's less so in Curacao, though still good. Curacao is definitely the shopping port. Bonaire is one of my favorite all-time ports; Curacao is more commercial, though still lovely.

Hi- We like both Curacao and Bonaire- but Curacao does have good snorkeling and lots to do.

 

Bonaire is beautiful, IMO, and offers excellent snorkeling and Curacao is also beautiful and has the benefit of many historic sites, good tours, good shopping, lots of restaurants, and it is a World Heritage site.

Bonaire has clear, turquoise blue water with beautiful fish.

Curacao wins in all other ways IMO

We've had wonder beach days on Curacao, usually at Porto Mari which has some very nice snorkeling. But for serious snorkeling the best we've seen in the Caribbean has been Bonaire.

 

I can't comment personally about other activities as we've done little else in Curaco and nothing else in Bonaire.
