Post-Cruise FLL Stay

Due to flight issues we find ourselves spending the night in FLL when we arrive back from our cruise (Quebec to FLL) in October. We're used to the pre-cruise routine - but this is a new one for us.

 

I'm trying to figure out how to best arrange things. Obviously we can't use the option of having our luggage taken direct to the airplane, so we'll have that sitting there when we get off the ship mid morning.

 

IF they offer a post-cruise tour and enough people sign up I've read that they will load your luggage in the bottom of the bus until the tour is over at which time we can get a cab from wherever the drop you off (assuming they won't take you to the hotel).

 

But if no tour is available the only thing I can think of is to make arrangements with whatever hotel we pick to hold our luggage for us, take a cab there to drop off the bags, then head out on whatever it is we decide to do for the day.

 

Have any of you experts had this experience - or have any ideas???

There probably will be tours offered by the ship post-cruise, in which case you're right - your bags will travel with you and you will be dropped at the airport. You could then take a cab to the hotel and your room would prob be ready.

If you're staying at a hotel pre-cruise, you could prob make arrangements to stay on your return and they should have a secure place to hold your bags til the room is ready. Then have a plan.. take a cab or water taxi, rent a car etc to do... whatever.

We've only did it once and we stayed in an area where there was not much to do and didn't have a plan!! It was really boring... most people just want to go home after a cruise so staying the extra night is loooong !!

Thanks! We're starting out in Quebec and ending in FLL - so the pre-cruise hotel idea won't work :-)
