cruisingbooboo Posted April 14, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2011 I recently upgraded from a Canon SD600 Elph to a Rebel T1I that take the same type of memory card. I want to be sure I have enough, I assume the T1I uses more memory because the files are bigger correct? Don't want to be caught short handed, and dont want to bring y laptop. Thanks! donaldsc Posted April 14, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2011 There are a bunch of internet sites out there that tell you how many pictures you can put on a memory card. In any case, buy more. memory cards are cheap; lost picture opportunities are expensive. DON

The files are, of course, larger. Memory is so inexpensive nowadays that it is well worth your while just to buy twice as much as you would think you will use and rest assured. I typically shoot 16gb-20gb on a week-long cruise with both cameras but routinely carry 40gb+ with me. Dave

Your camera manual will tell you how many photos per GB. lternatively insert a blank card in each camera and read how many pictures are remaining. At $10 or less for a 4GB card, buy a bunch! itzmered Posted April 14, 2011 #6 Share Posted April 14, 2011 More is better. I have been on vacation and had to buy more memory cards and paid quite a hefty price for them. I have four 8gb cards plus two 4gb cards that I bring with. I also bring my lap top and back everything up on it and also leave them on the cards until I get home and can back them up on my external hard drive. I am paranoid about losing them :)
cruisingbooboo Posted April 15, 2011 Author #7 Share Posted April 15, 2011 You're all right, not worth stressing. I'll go get a few more cards. Thanks
