Just wondering - what qualifies you to receive special boarding privileges? Also, what's the best way to ensure reservations at the specialty restaurants - we ususally like to eat at prime time around 7:30 or 8:00 and we are a party of 4.

Thanks! Also, the week we're cruising is a sold out ship.

buy a suite and you usually get all of the suite privileges like vip boarding, a butler that can manage your reservation.

When you first board the ship, go the specialty restaurants asap to place a reservation since it will be hard to get that time on a regular day

If you don't want to upgrade to a suite, then just arrive at the port early for check-in. They will issue your group a number for boarding - first checked-in, first to board (after the priveledged ones of course).

As for the specialty restaurants - while you are waiting to board there will be tables set-up in the waiting area to make reservations for the specialty restaurants and purchase soda cards if desired. Once onboard, you can make reservations in the Crystal Atrium at the service desk on deck 7.

Make sure you try the Tequila Latin/Tapas Restaurant! Deck 8 - upstairs from the Atrium. By the way, Margarita Madness is from 5:00 to 6:00 every day at the Tequila Bar.

Just got off Gem full ship no trouble getting reservations except for Teppanyaki which always fills quickly if suite concierge will take care of you

Teppenyakki will be a problem b/c it has limited seating by its nature. The others as long as you can be a bit flexible should be fine. Not everybody wants to spend the extra money for the speciality restaurants.
