ready2travel54 Posted April 23, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2011 I know I need travel insurance. I don't even have a clue as to where to start. Hubby and I have no pre-exsisiting conditions. We already booked the cruise.--months ago. About how much should I expect to pay for the two of us. We have the cruise and have booked excursions, hotels, cars etc for aweek before the cruise. We have purchased trip insurance before through our travel agent.
Host Caroline Posted April 23, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2011 I use insuremytrip.com to compare rates and always purchase the insurance before we go into the "Cancellation phase." You should total up nonrefundable costs you have incurred and purchase insurance for that amount (or a lesser if you are comfortable losing deposits etc.). There is no way to know what your cost for insurance will be without knowing your ages, itinerary, costs etc. but insuremytrip.com allows you to enter all that, compare policies etc. Otherwise you can purchase thru your TA as you have previously done? Rare Keith1010 Posted April 24, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2011 I would compare the rates and the details of the policy to other policies. We also use insuremytrip.com to find policies. After you enter some very simple information it will bring up a series of policies and you can easily compare them with one another. You can then pick the policy that best meets your specific situation. Keith
