Average fees for renting snorkel gear?

I am considering doing some beaches on our own on our cruise. Debating between renting or buying snorkel gear. Hubby thinks its easier to just rent, but Im a cheapo, if its cost effective, I would love to buy and then have them if we ever need them again.

How much is the average fee for renting snorkeling equipment? Better off buying or renting?

Thanks in advance!!!

$10 a day for mfs and a vest if required is average ...

rental stuff is typically cheap crap

on the order of the stuff you'd buy at COSTCO

renting twice vs a cheap set is a wash . . . . and WASH may be the important word in this case . . .

Catch my drift?

Some prefer a snorkel that has not been in another's mouth.

some places that require a vest will give one for no charge to a person with their own gear and some others do not . . .
