luvcruisn' Posted April 26, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2011 Going to bed late Pacific time - just watched the Amsterdam on the Port Everglades webcam sail in to Fort Lauderdale from her 110 day world voyage. I guess people must be sad to leave friends made on board, but happy to be going back to families on shore. Don't know if I would ever want to or be able to be away that long, but it must be quite an experience.
CaveDiving Posted April 26, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2011 Hi, We've been on the Amsterdam for around four months now and loving it. We live in Arizona, so we take the repositioning cruises before and after the world cruise. This way we get on in L.A. and off in San Diego and simply rent a car each way from home. No flying and no shippng bags is a real plus for a long cruise. Scott & Karen
Cruisin Suzin Posted April 26, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2011 If I ever win the lottery, my first thing to do will be to book a world cruise. Absolutely on the bucket list.
Harry1954 Posted April 26, 2011 #4 Share Posted April 26, 2011 We were on the first 46 days of this cruise and must say that the crew, captain, and fellow pax were wonderful. We missed it after we got off and today, we have empathy with everyone leaving the ship as we already had that sad experience when we got off in Sydney. What a great experience it was. harry

Cruizer Bill Posted April 28, 2011 #7 Share Posted April 28, 2011 I hope we hear from someone who was on the entire 110 day cruise! Just think how long it would take to write a review!!
luvcruisn' Posted April 28, 2011 Author #8 Share Posted April 28, 2011 There are two live reports that have been done from this year's world cruise. One is by Jeff Farschman, who has been on 5 world cruises since 2007. The other one is from Bill and Mary Ann. Here are the two links: http://amazingvoyages.blogspot.com/ (Jeff's) http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1327543 (Bill and Mary Ann)
