Vacation Protection

Is it a good idea to get the vacation protection plan with Carnival? They offered it when I booked for 99 per person and said I could call back and add it if I would like.

$99 per person?? Are you sure not for the entire booking?? Must be a very expensive booking.

Sounds pricey! :eek: Besides www.insuremytrip.com you might check with your regular home/auto insurance company - ours offered us a better rate than anything on line or from Carnival. Good luck! :)

Sometimes they call to remind you around final Payment, sometimes they reportedly just charge it with your Final Payment "without mentioning it".

You might find a better deal, better coverage with one of the 3rd Party Insurers like CSA, TravelInsured, TravelEX, TravelGuard.

We choose to self insure as our medical insurance covers us but if you want coverage would suggest you consider outside agency.

We take independence ins because we often want the luggage protection and medical evacation policies and cancle for any reason. If we are going in a night b4. The Cruise insurance usually only covers the cruise. I like squaremouth.com the best

If you are a USAA member they have cheap travel insurance which I currently have booked.

 

Another place is travelexinsurance.com...I've used them before and had to file a claim and they were great to work with!

I recently had to use TravelEx since we had to cancel 4 cabins on 3 cruises. The claim was handled quickly with no problems.
