dadroy Posted April 30, 2011 #26 Share Posted April 30, 2011 What charges are there for needing to change your flight?? If you can change to a later flight if you miss the first one, go for it. If there is a giant fee for changing don't try it. Years ago, before 9/11 my son and I had a 2pm flight. We got to the airport at 8am and Delta gave us an 8:25 flight. I loved it. But if there is fog, wind, or just a passport issue with a (don't mean to belittle them, but a Canadian who does not report to customs till 10am, you miss the flight. Have you cruised before? You know those names they call for 2 hours after you are docked? You cannot disembark until all those people show up at customs.
Stags14 Posted April 30, 2011 #27 Share Posted April 30, 2011 If the stress of rushing off in the AM doesn't bother you - give it a shot. Personally, not how I'd like to end my vacation but again... we're all different so if it doesn't bother you - go for it!
Tucker in Texas Posted April 30, 2011 #28 Share Posted April 30, 2011 What charges are there for needing to change your flight?? On one of our recent cruises we tried to get on an earlier flight and they wanted a bunch of bucks so we waited it out. The post I made about missing our flight was before 9/11. By waving a $50 bill to our cab driver, he got us to the airport in 20 minutes. The cab ride was as scary as an E-ticket ride at Disneyland. Bottom line is our luggage made the flight, we didn't. So not only were we "stranded" there, we had no luggage at all since we had checked everything figuring we were on our way home so there is nothing we would need. We just had a bag full of breakables and two teenage, good looking girls wearing a tube top and shorts. I had nightmares thinking about getting a hotel room with their attire and no luggage (lol). snowman Posted April 30, 2011 #29 Share Posted April 30, 2011 NOT A CHANCE!!! You would be lucky to make it before 1:00. I speek from experiance. With 2 or 3 ships in port the TSA is a nightmare.
