Travel car seats

Since the question of how to travel with car seats comes up a lot, I just wanted to point out that the Cosco Scenera is lightweight and cheap (for the price, it's seriously almost disposable). The black and pink 40lb rear-facing models are on sale right now for $35 at Target, down from $50 list price. This sale happens at least a couple of times a year.

Anyway, if you're concerned about the weight of a car seat, this one is lightweight and has a good weight capacity. I don't recommend gate-checking a car seat, but if I were to do so, I'd want to gate check a "disposable" seat and not my regular more expensive one, kwim?

It's just had to do in Canada. It is definitely one of the more inexpensive seats and I've never seen it go below $70 on sale here.

The other thing I'd suggest is make sure you know how to install with a locking clip, and that you bring one with you :)
