vanityfur Posted May 10, 2011 #51 Share Posted May 10, 2011 And HOW does a celiac eat regular crackers??? They don't. But, you do. Here's your post: "Another thing we could do is if the rooms have refrigerators we can bring back a plate from the dinner buffet such as cheese, CRACKERS and such to eat later thats an option but do the staterooms have a refrigerator?" http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=28970154&postcount=
iluvdoxies Posted May 10, 2011 #52 Share Posted May 10, 2011 As you put it here "It's not healthy to dwell on things like carving stations for YEARS after your last cruise on the Fascination". Its not even been a year since my cruise on the Fascination! For those who are reading this I like to explain why meat carvings, vegetables are important to me on the lunch buffets as I have already told Vanityfur in prior posts: I live with celiac disease (this person does not want to understand if I eat anything with gluten I get severely ill). I not need a gluten free special diet just count on carnival offering meat carvings/hot main dishes in its buffet lunch and include vegetable dishes, potato rice side choices. I don't know about anybody else but if I had to eat rotisserie chicken everyday on my cruise I minds just stay home. Other cruise lines offer an abundent of soups, hot main dishes along with a great selection of vegetables and sides, we didn't even get any soups on the Fascination! Maybe if vanityfur had celiac disease he/she would understand the importance of having meat and vegetables dishes available! The Fascination DID have carving stations daily===========also inside, they had breakfast served till 1130. GUess you missed that, you just have to look and walk around. iluvdoxies Posted May 10, 2011 #53 Share Posted May 10, 2011 I always thought rotisserie is chicken/turkey (poultry) I like to find out by Hurricane Girl whether they offer meat carvings and truely appreciate it Hurricane Girl. :) Yes they had turkey one day and ham another, also a great salad bar. Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted May 10, 2011 #54 Share Posted May 10, 2011 Hello Ilovedoxies Can you please tell me when you taken the Fascination as you said they had ham and turkey I wonder if they added/put the carvings back after when I cruised? Vanityfur, I am not travelling alone but with my husband and he of course needs to eat also, I eat the cheese and HE likes to put his cheese on crackers, thats why it be nice to have crackers also for my honey! I can eat rice crackers which are sold everywhere in stores now. You seem to not believe about a condition called celiac, or simply making fun of me having it...... I also have been diagnosed with Hashimato's disease, there is a connection between both conditions which shows again that celiac IS a very serious illness....its ok, Im glad you not have it and have to deal with having it! Kristi Williamson Posted May 10, 2011 Author #57 Share Posted May 10, 2011 Hey guys, Just to clarify, breakfast was served until noon at the Coconut Grill and there was chicken each day at lunch. They didn't have those nice roasts each day at lunch, but no biggie to us. There was also the Mongolian grill, which my husband really enjoyed. As I stated in my review, there have been some lunch cuts, but nothing that should overly affect your cruise experience. It didn't affect ours, but we're not huge foodies, either. The MDR had some cuts also, but again, we're not foodies so it certainly wasn't the end of the world. As someone else mentioned, the salad bar was great. They also had really good fruit selections at lunch and breakfast. I really enjoyed the watermelon!! Yum! Either way, we had a wonderful time and the Fascination is a great value for what you pay. Hope everyone cruising on her soon has as great a time as we did! Bon Voyage!!! By the way, if you're a casino player, don't forget to call the Ocean Player's club and get your stuff sent to your cabin!!! We ended up with 3 trays of chocolate covered strawberried, 30 dollars in coupons for photos and 150.00 in the casino! AWESOME!! :D
Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted May 10, 2011 #58 Share Posted May 10, 2011 Thank you Kristi for clarifying this, I been saying that the ship did not have the roasts, but one person chooses to disagree with me, and I just want the truth to be known. Now that you cleared this all upl, I have to say thank you for doing so. So this issue now is not going to be brought up and no disagreeing as you also say no roasts on this ship as I said. Thank you now that case is certainly closed, wew lol :)
Roe95695 Posted May 12, 2011 #59 Share Posted May 12, 2011 Thank you OP for your input. we don't sail on the Facination until November and I for one found your review helpful on many different ways. I am soo ready to sail away now... Those of you who have chosen to argue on this thread - SHAME ON YOU... This wonderful person shared her vacation with us in her experiences and some of you had to turn it into an argument - that sounds like has been going on between a couple of posters for quite some time now.
