jennbngl Posted May 12, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2011 Hey All - I ordered a pop up shade screen for the beach. Me and my oldest daughter have fairly fair skin, and I am hoping to use it as a "home base" while in Cocoa Beach, Labadee and Grand Cayman. I figure I am going to use it for DD's softball games before our cruise to figure our how it works, but them take it with on Freedom. It folds like the sun shades you can use in your car. Will it be more of a hassle? This is our first family cruise, and I;m stressing on just about everything. :)
cb at sea Posted May 18, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 18, 2011 If it's lightweight and easy to transport, by all means, bring it! All public beaches do have umbrella rentals, however, and on Labadee, there's plenty of shady spots....so if you don't want to bring it, you don't have to. Now, stop stressing! This is supposed to be a vacation...a fun time! Cruising really isn't different than any other kind of "beachy" vacation!!!
Colorado Kat Posted May 23, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 23, 2011 It sounds good. However, please remember that the beach sand, and the water can reflect the sun back onto you. I would also use sun-screen, and wear a hat.
