Going on Island Escape 17 May, can anyone tell me whats the best trips to do and the best way of doing them. is it easier to make your own way? Also would like to see Rome but don't know whether to get train or guided tour. Been reading reviews, a lot of people recommending Rome in limo but think it maybe expensive for just two of us.

We have done the Rome trips, but were warned about arriving back late, because you will miss the ship!! they won't wait unless you are on a Thomson Excursion.

 

But everyone is different with trips, we like doing our own thing on trips but some swear by the organised ones.

We have been on quite a few cruises and would advise that if you can afford the guided excursions they are worth doing - the knowledge of the guides is amazing.

if you want to do them on your own, always do the cruise ones like Rome on your own, because, as rebel Rouser says, the ship always waits for its own excursions to return and as Rome is a couple of hours from the ship anything can happen to disrupt travel.

We are on the Escape next week as well, and will be doing Rome and a Florence trips we haven't done already - hope we all have a great week!

Have you stopped taking your medication again, lol.:D

 

I've actually seen that before, so funny. Someone nearly did that when we were leaving La Palma, luckily they just got back in time.
