WNCtourist Posted May 14, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 14, 2011 After searching through lots of posts on CC (what a great resource!), I'm unsure about whether we should book a Princess transfer from Whittier to Anchorage or use a third-party provider. It appears there are concerns about some of the shuttle providers and our timeframe doesn't work for the train. All suggestions are appreciated! psyfi Posted May 15, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2011 I would recommend that you ask this on the Alaska board as you will get more responses but my opinion is to book a Prince William Sound glacier cruise (do the 6 hour) with transfer. They will pick you up around 8 am, transfer you to Whittier for the 11 am boat, bring your luggage to the ship for you. Then after the PWS tour, you can board at 5 pm and go get dinner. There is nothing much to do in Whittier and I would highly recommend seeing some glaciers (and otters and maybe whales, etc...) from a smaller ship. It sounds like the OP was lookiing for a transfer from Whittier to Anchorage (after the cruise) not the other way around.
