  1. @LACruiser88 Thank you for posting the MDR dinner menus when you dine there -- it's great to see up-to-date menus so I can develop my dinner plans! And thanks for sharing your wonderful photos. I have enjoyed following along with your cruise.
  2. So excited for another cruise with @Norwaylady and the Queen! Have a wonderful time and try to rest a little!
  3. Our last Princess cruise in 2019, we requested early dining, table for 2, well in advance. Instead we were directed to a table for 8, which we declined, then to a table for 6 and told that was all that was available. Less said about the tablemates, the better!
  4. Hmm. I asked my physician for a Paxlovid prescription for an upcoming cruise and she said no!
  5. Thank you for your enjoyable report, and best wishes for a quick recovery, @Host CJSKIDS!
  6. Thank you @Norwaylady for this great review! I wish you and Mr Norway safe travels home.
  7. We sailed on the Grand round-trip to Hawaii in 2019 and the itinerary made up for shortcomings onboard. The buffet was below average and small, particularly since they would close off one entire side in the evenings. There were numerous leaks on several decks and one day the casino and areas around it were closed due to flooding from a heavy Hawaiian rainstorm.
  8. The dining situation is unacceptable. I suggest requesting a meeting directly with the Food & Beverage director (and be sure to mention how the restaurant manager/dining manager is always "too busy" to talk with you).
  9. As my grandfather used to say, "That's just pitiable."
  10. Another step towards the "Royal Caribbeanizing" of Celebrity?
  11. Wow, you certainly made the most of your pre-cruise stay in Rome! Thanks for the photos and mouth-watering food tour report!
  12. That lunch looks amazing! And the photo of you tasting wine is iconic!
  13. No need to convince me -- we're booked on Sky Princess next June for the Midnight Sun/Arctic Circle cruise. Really looking forward to seeing your beautiful country!
  14. Mashed potatoes with almost everything?
  15. Also, it seems some of the Iceland ports are missed more often than Norway due to bad weather. I vote for Midnight Sun (and am booked for that cruise next year). Come join us! There's already an active roll call.
  16. Thanks @Globaliser for the perspective. I appreciate your response!
  17. I'm not an experienced flyer, and wanted to check on this connection time before booking tickets for a June trip. This involves flying from LHR on Virgin Atlantic (Delta codeshare) to ATL, then connecting to Asheville, NC on Delta (short regional flight). So I am understanding this correctly: Arrive in ATL in the International Terminal/ Concourse F Clear immigrations and customs inspection Drop off bags (tagged through to AVL) at the baggage recheck desks Pass through TSA Get to appropriate terminal to board AVL flight -- Domestic Terminal/Concourse T at the other end of the airport? The connection time is 2:35 -- do you think a frazzled traveler can do this? The next flight has a 3:45 layover, which is certainly doable but arrives 2 hours later in AVL. Thanks for your sharing your insights.
  18. @Cotswold Eagle Thank you for the suggestion about Cambridge -- I will check on taxi quotes there. The thought of chartering a helicopter is appealing but, alas, out of my price and comfort zone!
  19. Thanks @Globaliser -- unfortunately we aren't up for UK driving so a train and taxi may be our best choice. Am I correct in thinking the train from London Liverpool Station to Whittlesford Parkway is the right one?
  20. I greatly appreciate feedback on post-cruise plans we are making for June 2024, particularly recommendations on "reasonably priced" hotels to use as a base for 4 days in London. The cruise debarks in Southampton, and we want to head to London for sightseeing, including the V&A, British Museum, IWM London, and also spend a day at IWM Duxford (as if you couldn't guess, one of us is a museum nut and the other a WWII fanatic). What's a good location for our hotel based on where we plan to go? How do you recommend we get to Duxford and back in a day -- the info I've seen isn't clear to my uneducated eyes? For perspective, we are seniors in the US living in an area with no public transportation, who visited London 5 years ago and grew to love the Underground and British trains. Thanks for your advice!
