logcabin Posted March 17, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2005 My wife and I just booked our second cruise on the Dawn. Going in June and staying in a Penthouse suite (was spoiled by the Romance suite last year we got in an up-grade). Anyway, the only excursion we are going to do is Sea World in Orlando. other then that, we are not beach people so we'll stay on board at the private Island. Miami is no big deal as is Nassau. So, we are looking for some ideas as to what we could do while we stay on the ship these days. We thought we'd take advantage of the ship being empty while in port these days. So, are there any spa discounts, specials around the ship, etc. We're just looking for some neat ideas from folks who have done this also. Thanks. cliffd64 Posted March 17, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2005 Usually on port days, there are a few activities scheduled during the day when most people are off the ship. They may include arts and craft type functions, to demonstrations, to trivia, scavenger hunts, and other such activities. Your best bet is to get ahold of your "freestyle daily' newspaper that morning and plan out your day if you know you are going to be on ship. Port days are also a good time to wander around the ship and take pictures, or visit the pool area because they won't be crowded at all. On the Dawn, there is also a cinema, so a good movie might also be playing.
