bbiggar Posted June 5, 2011 #26 Share Posted June 5, 2011 On the milestone cruises you get on-board credit corresponding to what the cost of the cruise was 25 - 25% 50 - 50% 75 - 75% 100 - 100% Nothing for platinum though. :( Unfortunatly you get nothing other than this for being a milestone member. The 25th was great getting that credit, but now we have to wait until the 50 for anything more than platinum perks again. :(
PA Dutchman Posted June 5, 2011 #27 Share Posted June 5, 2011 Funny, I noticed the same thing on the Dream, and I had the Milestone card... We found out that only every other crew member knows what a white card means. Not that it matters, you may as well be just Platinum, the crew knows what that is. I had a deer in the headlights moment on the Valor with the ACD when he said O your milestone, and I asked him what do I get from carnival for being milestone. He just looked at me and didn't say a thing.
Lydia B. Posted June 5, 2011 #28 Share Posted June 5, 2011 Congrats and enjoy the perks...I will be Platinum on our next cruise in Feb. Another poster made comment about knowing and not knowing you name. I don't think that has much to do with being Platinum as it simply does the employee. On our last cruise our Steward was simply the best, was using our names by the first afternoon. I have found that all staff are basically super on Carnival, sometimes a staff member really shines. I remember thinking that the crew on the Miracle especially the Purser's staff were exceptional! Again enjoy someone else doing some laundry for you kiddo. TVMet Posted June 5, 2011 #30 Share Posted June 5, 2011 First of all, Congrats. You will receive VIP embarkation. Wash and Fold laundry, Free! Petit Fours and other goodies delivered to your stateroom on two different days. A Carnival gift. plus, you are invited to a special cocktail party and a galley tour. Enjoy your perks, they are very nice! That's true, recent Dream cruise was our first with the new card. Seems like everyone knew us by name and they were very nice. Rare Buffettfan 225 Posted June 5, 2011 #31 Share Posted June 5, 2011 We will be platinum next cruise in spring and have used wash & fold in past wher we jammed a bag full and paid$ The laundry will be a great perk-- my question is has anyone had trouble with anything shrinking -like delicate t-shirts, or swimwear being damaged? Just wondering if there is such thing as not washing everything in hot "down in the laundry deck" -also if you are just getting platinum this cruise will be invited to special party and galley tour or is that only for returning platinum? ...IF YES, do you think we can take our two kids age 18,20 on tour who are not platinum with us on galley tour? idlenote Posted June 5, 2011 #32 Share Posted June 5, 2011 We just made platinum on the Legend in May. I thought the absolutely best perk was not having to wait in the lines for the tenders, just go down to Guest Services and they will escort you down to the boat. No queuing for tender tickets, no waiting in line, and they put us in through a side door so we didn't have to put up with any dirty looks. Priceless! Wow-that is a perk, now maybe I will move a western itinerary up into consideration again in the future now that we have platinum-they didn't even do that for VIP being in a suite-unless I didn't know they would  I thought you would have just been given ticket #1-but then again that would require exact timing. Wonder how they do that-to me they would be going up,coming down back and forth from guest services- or are there not that many platinum per cruise? Cruise-Crazy Posted June 5, 2011 #35 Share Posted June 5, 2011 Don't forget the "special" platinum members special line at Guest Services should you need it. Be prepared to get some looks though as many don't understand why you get to "skip the line" Yes, always fun to use that line... :D
richkinkade Posted June 5, 2011 #36 Share Posted June 5, 2011 This is waht you should expect as a platinum guest. Some day, without advance notice, you will return to your cabin to discover that someone has left a few shrimp and fish bits on a plate to get warm in your room. Usually this will happen when you return to your room after spending 5 or 6 hours at dinner and after dinner activities. Since you aren't humgry, you will think for about 5 seconds about consuming shrimp that have been sitting your cabin for 5 hours, then you will either leave the plate on the desk or put it out in the hallway. gogetter Posted June 6, 2011 #43 Share Posted June 6, 2011 Hello and Congrats.... I enjoy the VIP embarkation and debarkation The free laundry is a huge perk in my eyes. Leave it in the morning and it will be back in the evening. Once, i was at a bar and a lady next to me ordered a drink and used her GOLD card, the waiter then took my order and i handed him my grey PLATINUM card. The lady asked me what that was and i told her.....i mean she was kinda pissy someone had something better....it was entertaining though, when i told her of our other perks....lol Welcome to the club and have a great cxruise !!!!!!!!!! CruiserRose Posted June 6, 2011 #45 Share Posted June 6, 2011 My wife and I are about to join you in September as we will go Plat. my question is the return to ship tender - is there priority - front of line service at the port to return to the ship? i think i remember some discussion about this in the past but i never saw a final statement on this. thanks

Their response to your platinum card, GET TO THE BACK OF THE LINE ! idlenote Posted June 7, 2011 #49 Share Posted June 7, 2011 Didn't see any skipping to the front of the line coming back in the tender ports, but there again there wasn't any real lines, everything was moving fast. The day before they delivered the canapes Room Service called us and asked what time we wanted them delivered. After some back and forth they told me they would deliver them at 6, and the main reason was because it was seafood and they didn't want them sitting out in the cabin and spoiling. Have to say they were very, very good.

Glad they called about the canapes too!
