Is anyone else set to sail on this cruise?? We have a private tour booked in Athens, and might like to share with another couple. The taxi will hold four people, plus the driver. We have researched this tour company and found that it has excellent ratings through TripAdvisor. The total cost for the tour is 250 euros (approx $365). The same tour (Athens/Cape Sounion) through the ship's shore excursions is approx. $195 pp, and you are stuck on a hot bus with a hundred other people. With this service, we could control the pacing (to a point), where we eat, and what we see. Plus, the taxi drivers are all good English speakers, and the taxis are non-smoking!!!

You may be saving euros by booking a private tour, but frankly, I have been to the temple at Sounion (not on a cruise). You don't need a tour guide. Use a guidebook and just pay a taxi.

Join the roll call for your cruise, which is the best place to coordinate private excursions and the like. You'll find a wealth of information there.

Ditto...we're always happy to have more people there--it's listed as the 14-day cruise, but there are several people just doing the 1st half of it. I bet someone will be interested in your Athens plan.
