Scorpiorose Posted June 5, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2011 I'm a jogger....how is the deck on the Jade, would I have to run 100 laps to make a mile? In a pinch I run on the tread mill but I prefer to run outside if I can....thoughts?
Carnac767 Posted June 5, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2011 That would be a very small ship. I think it was about four laps for a mile. There's a marker that tells you exactly how many laps per mile.
4774Papa Posted June 5, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 5, 2011 My Wife and I have graduated from running to biking, but one day the stationary bikes in the fitness center were all taken, so we did a brisk walk on the promenade deck. i seem to remember that 3.5 trips around was a mile. rsinj Posted June 5, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 5, 2011 5.5 laps for a mile. Not too terrible: http://www.cruisecritic.com/reviews/review.cfm?ShipID=438©=spa ...and a walking/jogging track (5.5 laps to a mile). Howard
sloshel Posted June 5, 2011 #5 Share Posted June 5, 2011 The last poster was closest....we are just off the ship a week ago and ran every morning. 5.3 laps around the official jogging track equals a mile. If you run early in the morning before the pool loungers are set up, you can extend the "lap" area and go around where the lounge chairs are set up. I think they start setting them up around 8:00. Enjoy!
johnql Posted June 5, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 5, 2011 Here's a pic from the Jewel, a sister ship to the Jade, which means that the distances are probably very similar.
