baycruising Posted June 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2011 We are considering a balcony cabin on Riviera Deck on the Sea Princess. Has anyone had one of these cabins? We realise that Sea is smaller - have cruised both the Dawn and Sun so aware of the ship layout but normally choose a BC on Caribe deck. Any comments on the Riviera deck cabins appreciated - would be worried about noise from above and also any problems with motion at the front of the ship. Murphey Posted June 10, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 10, 2011 We were on the Riviera Deck on the Dawn. We thought it was a great location, very convenient. Not a lot of foot traffic (other than officers' heading home :) )
Lanark Lass Posted June 10, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 10, 2011 Been on the Riviera deck on the sea princess twice, found it very conveniant for the pool and Horizon court, and had no problems with the sound from above. Would stay there again.

cruisehappi Posted June 11, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 11, 2011 Riviera Deck on Sea Princess last August. Great location - up one flight of stairs for the food;)! No noise from above whatsoever. Can't compare this balcony with others because it was our first Princess cruise, but we liked it enought to book a similar cabin on the Emerald! Toto2Kansas Posted June 11, 2011 #7 Share Posted June 11, 2011 Our very last balcony cabin (before we moved up to mini suites and suites) was on the Riviera Deck on the Dawn Princess (sister to the Sea). We had absolutely no problem with noise, and it was a nice location. We didn't feel any more motion and we were in R324, which is one of the three furthest forward balcony cabins on this deck. Since the cabins aren't actually located all the way forward (as on some ships), you really aren't in that area that would get a lot of extra motion. :)
Nancyquilts Posted June 11, 2011 #8 Share Posted June 11, 2011 We too like the Riviera deck - we've stayed there twice, and would again. It's really convenient to everything but the MDR.
