We will sailing on The Fascination on July4th and are wondering if kids (ages 12 & 15) are allowed in the clubs to watch the bands? We would not generally bring our kids to a bar...but we have on occasion when they are allowed...as my husband is a musician...and we like the kids to experience good bands. What is the rule on cruise ships?

Thanks!

You were not incorrect! There are bands, piano players, singer, etc. in various venues on the ship. I understand you completely. A lot of the entertainment is out in the open on some ships. As you move through the ship from deck to deck in the evening you'll see entertainers in different locations. Last year we sailed on the NCL Pride of America to Hawaii and kids were in all the venues as I remember. They won't be served drinks of course and in some venues they will not be able to be there after 11p. By the way, be sure to write a review of your trip when you return. We sail on the Facination on 8/1.

I believe the disco is the only bar where they check ID's. You won't see many bands though. On our last cruise we had a one man band in the casino that wasn't worth seeing and a 2 or 3 piece outfit on Lido deck during the day.

My daughter & her friend (16) came with me to the piano bar every night on our last cruise...no worries, take them and have a good time!

Carnival sets the drinking age as 21 on their ships.

I was on the Fascination in Jan-Feb. They had one guy who we liked who usually sang older rock in the atrium by the piano. They had a rock group on the Promenade deck that was good. You can get a chair at a table or stand and listen to these, or just pass by. We didn't go to the piano bar on this trip because dh didn't like all the smoke, but on other ships I have been to the piano bar sing-alongs, and their were teens there.

If they are into music, you will have a great time with them. Enjoy!

I have never seen anyone get carded to enter an area.
Typically the Disco after 11 pm.

what is the legal drinking age in international waters? 18 or 21? The ships are not US flaged.
International waters and the ship's registry have absolutely nothing to do with it. Carnival's POLICY is 21, regardless of where the ship is, even when in port where the local drinking age may be lower it is still 21 aboard ship.

On the Miracle....their "pit band" played in different areas around the ship....they were GREAT!!! I'd say there were at least seven people playing: trumpet, sax, percussion, trombone, keyboard....etc. They were always in a place where anyone could dance and enjoy.
