Characters on the allure of the seas

Recommended Posts

Just off the Oasis and I would assume the Allure is the same. The characters are scheduled to be in a specific area for a specific period of time. If you want pictures with them at these times you must use the ships photogs.

You might catch a glimps of them coming and going but you will not see them just walking around. At least that was our experience. Also there is a character breakfast you can sign up for.

This is correct, and the same goes for the Allure. Only thing to add is that the onboard staff who help control the lines for the official photogs will also take pictures with your camera if you wish them to. There was a show in the Aqua Theatre and a couple of parades with characters too.

They should just keep them in the children's area. I do not like cartoons and I do not want to see Shrek or any of his buddies roaming the ship with alot of children following.

Then maybe you should just go hideout in the Solarium!

The only time I saw them at all was on Friday on the running track around noon, their dressing room is on the back end of the ship on deck 5. They come out of the dressing room and up the stairs to the aqua theater. If you don't seek them out, they aren't real obtrusive.

Not true on the Oasis. They would not allow personal cameras to be used during the "offical" picture taking times. At least that was our experience.

FYI...Pictures are $19.95

The Characters do not frequent the bars, night clubs or the Solarium so if you stay in the "adult areas" you will not have an encounter with them.

FYI...they do not roam the ships.

Wow! That's rather strict! They were doing things differently on the Allure last week, then, as I was asked whether I also wanted a photo taken with my camera when we had our picture taken with Kung Fu Panda. Maybe we just got lucky?

On the Allure last week, they had scheduled character "appearances" where there was usually NO ship photographer present so the character escorts could take pictures with your own camera, and there were character "photo opportunities" where you had to use the ship's photographer and therefore purchase their pictures. Both took place in various areas, including the Royal Promenade, Boardwalk, etc.

The characters were also stationed outside of relevant events. I got a picture with the dragon outside of the "How to Train your Dragon on Ice" show, and a picture with Po outside the theatre before "Kung Fu Panda 2". I also got a bunch of great pictures at one of the character breakfasts. I didn't pay for any of these.

Overall the characters are hardly noticible if you don't go to Dreamworks events or the character appearances. And there are lots of opportunities to see them for those who do wish to get pictures with them, etc.
