scottbee Posted June 16, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2011 Air Canada and striking customer service and sales staff have reached a tentative deal, the union representing the workers confirmed Thursday. The Canadian Auto Workers have called a press conference for 2 p.m. ET in Toronto to discuss the deal. Labour Minister Lisa Raitt will speak to reporters at 1:15 p.m. ET in Ottawa. Word of the deal came just minutes after the Conservative government introduced legislation Thursday to force the union back to work. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2011/06/16/pol-back-to-work-debate.html
Rare Keith1010 Posted June 16, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2011 Glad to hear the positive news as there were quite a few concerned people with upcoming travel plans. Keith
Bramcruiser Posted June 17, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2011 I can breathe a sigh of relief. Some of my trip plans (including a transatlantic crossing) in two weeks time includes Air Canada. I'm less stressed out today.:)
