You ask. Usually the first formal night is the night of your first full day.

However, if you want all the details, you need to identify the ship and the itinerary.

We'll be sailing on Carnival Miracle August 10th-18th.

---10th, We leave

---11th, At Sea

---12th, At Sea

---13th, Grand Turk

---14th, Half Moon Cay

---15th, Nassau

---16th, At Sea

---17th, At Sea

---18th, Back home

I was on the Miracle in February, however, that was not our itinerary. However, most likely your formal nights will be on the 11th and the 16th. The first and last night is never formal and days at sea are very popular days to have formal nights.

The last night most people are scrambling to pack, doing their laundry, giving the last of their money to the casino, or trying to do the one thing that they forgot to do that they said they would do on a cruise. :D
