bottle shops at Darling Harbour

Im' hoping someone out there can tell me whether there is a Dan Murgphy's or a bottle shop close in to Darling harbour (as in walking

distance) that sells perservative free wine.

The ships don't carry any and I have been granted permission to take

some on board (at a fee of course) but I need to get them from

somewhere as close to the Wharf as I can so I won't be lugging them all

over town:D The weight on the plane will be a problem so I can't bring

any with me from home:(

Any suggestions will be much appreciated:)

I did a search and could not find Dan Murphy's in Darling Harbour..there is a bottle shop in the Docks Hotel and a wine store within the Darling Harbour complex possibly called Hurricanes perhaps you can phone them and enquire if the carry the wine you need.

 

Failing that throw something out of the bag...we always pack too much anyway LOL.

There is a bottle shop on lime street in darling harbor but it's quite small. If you phone them before they may be able to order in for you. They are very friendly

The other side is up the hill to King and George Sts, Coles Express have a liquourland outlet, although I can't speak for what they carry in their range.

We can buy it for you and bring it down with us. We will be travelling to Sydney by car, either ours or being driven by our son and daughter in law. If you can let me know what you would like, we can buy it for you and, after sampling it;);), will bring it with us to the ship.

if you are cruising on the Pacific Jewel how can you be given permission to take wine onboard as their policy is no alcohol or wine to be taken onboard....i know with Princess its ok to take onboard

I rang p&o and explained that I have an intolerance to sulphite (sp)

in wine and asked if they carried any preservative free wine on the ship.

The answer came back that no they don't but I can take my own, under

conditions, ie..I will pay a fee per bottle..I have to hand the bottles in

to reception on arrival.. and they will be available to me at only

one of the bars..so I can't take bottles back to my room.

 

I know its sounds like a lot for the sake of some wine but I like my

glass of red and I can only drink the the preservative free or I will be

very ill..took a long time to work out what it was that was making me

feel so ill after just a glass or two ..now I can finally enjoy it again:D

I know they are making money for me to do this but it would probably

cost me about the same per glass as what is available on the ship. I;m

just pleased to be allowed to do this:)

what i'd be doing is getting p&o to put it in writing as you will most likely be stopped at the xray by security and this way you have it in writing so they dont take the bottles off you

You could purchase some of those Rumrunner flasks to carry it in from home. They sell them online here in Australia.
