Hubby got the eGo-T in the mail. It turns out its a bit strong. He coughed quite a bit! He thinks he can get used to it, but he hasn't given up the regulars. We may have to try a different juice I think? It came with preloaded cartridges of MLB high - if anyone knows what that is and has a suggestion for what to try next I'm all ears! :)

Thanks for your help!

Check Tasty Vapor. Lots of flavors and options. Also there is nothing like a brand new atomizer for putting out massive clouds of vapor. More than a regular cigarette puts out smoke. As the atomizers age they put out less and less vapor until they finally die or you get tired of sucking the crap out of it and not getting any vapor. Plan on stocking up on spares. The "high" that you are referring to is probably the nicotine content. Most juice mixers have several levels of nicotine content all the way down to zero. Also the vapor can tend to dry your throat out even though its water vapor. That could be whats causing the coughing.

I have a question for those of you who've been vaping for a while now. My DH started using his in May of this year, and hasn't had a cig since. We've been decreasing his nicotine level in his liquid, and he's now starting on 11 mg. The only complaint he has is that his mouth is kind of sore. It started soon after he started vaping, and hasn't gotten worse, but also hasn't gotten better. We've changed the brand of liquid he uses, and it's still sore. Have any of you experienced this? Is this normal? Should it ease as he steps his nicotine levels more? Hopefully within a few more months, he'll be completely nicotine free and can give it up for good, but I'd like to know if anyone else has had this issue. Thanks in advance for the help!

I read an artical about this and it had a way to make his mouth quit being sore. Let me see if I can find it and I will post the link, or copy it to my next post.

Also, no need to YELL! :p

Well I don't know if the poster who was yelling to quit has smoked, but I have and that is what I did, I just quit. Put them down 4-9-10, and haven't smoked since.

Um......maybe a side affect of quitting is YELLING? As I always used to tell my son, yelling doesn't make you right....it just makes you loud

I've been using V2 E-Cigs for three weeks now and haven't had a "real" cigarette in all that time. I get my "juice" from Johnson's Creek. Personally, I don't really care what people may think of my new habit but I can tell you that instead of 4 thousand chemicals (with a real cigarette) I know vape 4...three of them are veg based and the fourth is nicotine. My E-Cig doesn't smell (the vapor), there is no flame and I know I've lowered my risk factor to an insignificant measurement.

As others have stated...stay away from the products made in China. Though they invented the device I much prefer vaping and using home-grown products. I won't have a problem with using my E-Cig in my cabin when they outlaw smoking in them (took too long for this to happen) because there is no odor.

Thank you will check it out. I have never smoked, but I'm wondering if it might be kind of like going from regular do diet soda...I liked Coke, but couldn't drink dt. Coke, so went to Dt. Dr Pepper and liked it!

I do love that it doesn't smell AT ALL. I'm very sensitive to smells, perfumes, etc. and even when he smokes outside I think its nasty....so I really want this to work for him! He did "vape" on his way to his job interview today so he wouldn't be stinky when he got there, so its already paying for itself!

Do you recommend any flavor? Do you have a favorite?

My personal favorite flavors are cinnamon apple and black licorice. I have found that after vaping for nearly six months that the taste of real cigarettes are nasty. Its almost like I can taste every single chemical in them. The first month I went from a pack a day to a pack in a month and since the first month I haven't had a real cigarette.

While I am a non-smoker, I have always viewed smokers as just people like anyone else and do not indulge in fake coughing, waving my hands, dirty looks or other types of rude behavoir at any time. If a smoker is in a non-smoking area, right or wrong, I move. If I find myself walking through the smoking area, I keep politely walking.

I have found many of the "testimonials" on using e-cigarettes and how the former smoker's health has improved to be kind of heart warming. When someone says they can now taste food again or lay down and not cough, you know this is a good thing for them. I still don't know if I want to breathe the vapor yet, but I will just move politely away and not run for a staff member to enforce the decision on e-cigarettes. Good luck to all of you who are finding this is a way decrease cigarette smoking.

If more people were as kind and tolerant as you the world would be a better place. Thank you for that.

That's right up there with making a cigar bar non smoking....

Seriously....who makes these dumb a55 decisions????

Funny you mention the cigar bar. I don't like the smell of cigars but slipped into one to have a smoke and there happened to be 9 men in there smoking cigars. Strangely enough there was only a very faint smell of cigar and no smoke in the air. I think it boils down to people who complain the most are ex-smokers who are afraid if they get a whiff they may be tempted to go back to smoking. Kindly refrain from slamming me on this as I too am entitled to an opinion.

http://www.greensmoke.com/ Those are the ones we use and they work great...all kinds out there, guess it's just up to personal preference and you get a plastic card to carry in your wallet that says...

"The Green Smoke unit is not a cigarette. It does not contain tobacco, It does not produce second hand smoke.

AS SUCH IT IS NOT SUBJECT TO ANY STATE OR FEDERAL 'NO SMOKING' LAWS.

The 'smoke like' vapor that emits is not smoke. It is made up of 99% water, up to 1% nicotine. If any, and other non-harmful elements such as flavoring. Please allow this Club Member to continue using their Green Smoke unit in your establishment or transport vehicle. They are NOT smoking."

Could you tell me if you have to depress a button on the

GS to make it work with each drag? I used the Joye10 and didn't like that that feature.

  • 2 weeks later...

An update....just got home from 8 glorious days on the Miracle. No problems using my e-cig everywhere (except dining areas) but I was discreet about it. I even ended up giving a disposable e-cig to a nice worker in the casino for her boyfriend. We'll see if we have the same luck on the Legend next week

I agree with Waldo, when I am on a confined ship with 3,000 other shipmates, and lets say 150 have a desire to deal with their habit, i.e. smoking, and decide to take out that vapor inhaler device, what happens if say 100 addicts decide to vapor in the dining room and the other 50 smokers decide to just light up the real cigarette smokes? (because they see other people puffing on something) Are the servers really supposed to police your addiction and control your habit and are we all supposed to suffer thru your withdrawel? I don't want too! No I don't smoke. And one more thing, my kids don't smoke, how about yours? I don't see many 10 year old's smoking on the ship.

Smoking hurts everyone, there is no positive outcome to smoking, read the info on the side of that pack of death. As far as the vapor inhalers, the other posters keep saying that no one knows the long term effects of the vapor being released into the air around all of us. So stay in the smoking section, if you want to pretend to smoke, because the Non Smokers really don't want to inhale real or pretend smoke EVER........

I know this is not a basher thread, but this statement hit a nerve. Lots of things aren't healthy. Beer, liquor, medications (what about FDA approved medications proved to be harmful and some kill), fatty foods, bacon and nitrates, smog, ..........

Be happy smokers are using alternative means to calm themselves, or would they be better running around with valium or xanax (habit forming too).

Yes, but your not blowing your valium etc up my nose.

No one has ever said anything about using an electronic cigarette in the eating areas as we wouldn't out of common courtesy. Besides, the crew seem to know about electronic cigarettes and quite a few of them already use one.

Since it's 2nd hand smoke....not 2nd hand nicotine that causes lung problems....non smokers should be happy that smokers are switching over to e-cigs. Not everyone can quit smoking "cold turkey", just as not everyone can control their food, alcohol or other addictions by sheer will-power alone. I think it's great that anyone can quit smoking (by whatever means) but let's not be so judgmental of those who can't.

I'm not sure about dining areas or theater, but I certainly wouldn't have a problem with anyone vaping anywhere else. The thing that irritates nonsmokers is the smoke, not the nicotine.

I have no idea if the long-term inhalation of nicotine vapor is harmful or not, but I doubt it's worse than smoke, and, in any event. that's really the concern of the smoker / vaper, not my concern.

I'm surprised the self-righteous even take time out from their halo-polishing sessions to come here and bash peple. :D

Face it: some people won't be happy no matter what.
