vacationgogo Posted March 20, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2005 As I read the boards, I notice that there seems to be a lot of interest in Atlantis. As someone who has been to Atlantis, (stayed there on vacation, didn't tour as part of an excursion), just a word of warning.... that place is huge! I never took an organized tour, so I don't know how long it takes. If you are interested in this excursion, I would definitely look into the details. I don't know if it's for everyone. wwinfl91 Posted March 20, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 20, 2005 We did the ship's tour when we were there a couple of years ago. We walked through the lobby, went through the Atlantis ruins and the under the aquarium and saw all the fish and then they led through some of the grounds and then let us loose to either catch the boat back to the ship or to go to the casino and gamble. Personally I didn't feel like the tour was worth what we paid for it but we did get to see the place a little. I suspect you can go out there on your own and see almost as much as we did on our tour. IMHO. Have a great next cruise.
tanten99 Posted March 21, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 21, 2005 We got this idea off Cruise Critic when we went to Bahamas last year, and it was excellent for anyone who wants to visit Atlantis. Get a room at the Comfort Suites. It's about $240.00 for the room (depending on season) and it covers 4 people and passes to all of Atlantis, including the "Atlantis Guests Only" stuff such as the water parks, slides, etc. The stuff that you cannot due in doing the Cruise tours. The taxi there and back only cost about $6.00 each way. This was they way to spend the day in Nassau. And when you consider that the $240 covered 4 people it was a great deal.
