Hiring a Cab in Cozumel

I know there is a board for ports but I wanted to ask the RCI group. Has anyone used Tours Plaza to hire a driver and has anyone used Gerry? Please share your experiences, where you went and what you would recommend or not recommend doing? Also feel free to share your thoughts if other or better "hire a driver for a day" options are available. We are going to be in Cozumel on July 29 and are leaning towards this option.

Iv done cabs, but never a particular cab ahead of time. They seem quite reasonable and at least charge per cabin, not per person.

We were there in March and when you get off the ship and walk out to where all the taxis are sitting in the shopping area, keep walking past them, and go right out to the sidewalk and there will be taxi reps there who will give you a much better deal, and they will walk you back in to where all the taxi's are and get you a cab and driver for a much cheaper price, then you can on your own - (we negotiated a price on the sidewalk before walking back in). We had a wonderful 1/2 day tour and our driver knew perfect English. We drove around the whole Island and made many stops. It was a wonderful tour for less then $15 pp in our group. I do not think you need to book anything in advance unless your getting a very good deal. Taxi's are very plentiful in Cozumel.
