Istanbul Jewish Sites in Galata -- Walkable?

How steep is the downhill walk from Tunel through Galata to Karakoy? We would like to visit the Jewish synagogues and other sites, but my wife has difficulty going up/down stairs. Thanks.

I don't have an answer to your specific question but I will tell you something I learned from doing research on Jewish sites. You need to arrange this in advance with the Chief Rabbinate (or work with a tour company that does). You can't show up and get into the synagogues without having made arrangements ahead of time. I don't know if this was something you were aware of but I'd hate for anyone to show up and be disappointed.
