Avalon Luminary - Amsterdam to Paris, July 7-16, 2012

CruiseCritic says to "be very specific" in creating a New Thread title; so I hope this does it.

 

This will be our 2d river cruise with 26 ocean cruises to date, and 2 more by the time this one starts.

 

We have never been to Paris, so we are working, or rather our TA is working, on extending this for two or so days at the same hotel used by Avalon as part of this trip. Since this is more than a year in the furure, it will probably be a while before any extended hotel booking is confirmed.

 

We have booked a standard stateroom. Our past river boat experience, on Viking's Clara Schumann up the Elbe Rover from Prague to Berlin last August showed us that one does not spend much cabin time on these cruises. Avalon's 172 square feet is not much smaller than many ocean cruise "standard" staterooms.

 

We are looking forward to meeting people on this thread before we sail, and everyone, once we are on board.
