Surprise trip for Daughter - Conquest 6-26 - Lots of fun - Pictures & Review

Day 3 - Fun Day at Sea!!!!!

 

Did you ever just loose track of the days and time? If you did that means your really on vacation.... So for me the days started running together... Seams like we did all of this yesterday...

 

So our day started off pretty much like yesterday. We ordered room service the night before and set the time for 8:00 to 9:00 again, and yes right at 8:00 there was a knock on the door, the only thing that was different was that Rae and I were both dead to the world.

 

Rae holler's, "Mom there's a knock on the door"

 

I'm like so confused, "What?"

 

I hurried to the door, not really sure who I was, where I was or what time is it??? and yes my hair was upside down and I had my pj's on... SCARY!!

 

Then it dawned on me... It's room service...:rolleyes:

 

So I opened the door, she was very apologetic for waking us, but Breakfast is here...

 

So she brought the tray in I had to dig for my purse to tip her and back out the door she went...

 

I sat the tray down on the cluttered counter and asked Princess if she was ready to eat? I got some kind of UGGGGG sound so I guess she's going back to sleep. I took my toast, jelly and coke out onto the balcony and sat down for a nice quite breakfast...

 

One of the reasons I wanted a balcony stateroom was for this very reason, to sit quitely for a couple of hours while Princess slept. It wasn't to long about 9:30ish and she was up and hungry...

Again, I'm not real sure why we tried fruit again, It's not that great.

 

 

This is our Gorilla that the DOTD came in yesterday... Isn't he cute, he now sits on Rae's dresser and watches over her...

 

 

She again decided that she wanted to dress instead of putting swim suits on with a cover up.

 

 

Hary!!!! He was our room steward... He was great... We loved him. Every morning I went ahead and tipped him an extra few dollars just because he had to put up with us...

I'm still loving the review!!! I have seen those towel clips several times but haven't justified buying them yet. I think I just did!! For some reason I never thought of taking them on a cruise. Duh! They will keep your towel from blowing away. Why didn't I think of that?!!:rolleyes::D I have seen them at Target, Kohl's, and Bed, Bath and Beyond. Now off to see if they still have them in the stores.

My husband said he saw them at kohl's here in Abilene last weekend... So hopefully you'll find them. They worked so good, expecially on the sports deck when the wind was blowing... Everyone else was having trouble with their towels..:eek: They needed towel Clips!!!!:D:D

While sitting out on the balcony before breakfast the clouds were really full and fluffy!!! Not very much sun trying to press through.

 

After the princess ate and dressed in regular clothes, it was time for the one thing she is desperately wanting..

 

 

A tattoo...Fake one

 

Now for her justification for a tattoo: it's because I have always called her my Rae of Sunshine... So she wants a sunshine on her foot just like this fake on that she got at the stand on the Lido Deck.

 

Isn't it cute :confused: I'm not a tattoo fan at all, sorry if I offended you but I'm just not. Why would you want to put ink all over your beautiful body... I just don't get it. So I've threatened my children that if they get a tattoo I will not pay for there college... So far we're good, just one really small one on Eric's wrist that say's Jesus in Hebrew.. You can't see it. He wears golf bracelet thing over it...

Yes, I'm still paying for his college, although he's out of college now.

 

So while Rae was getting her fake tattoo, I got an omelet... I barely ate my toast this morning so I thought I would try something else. It was a bacon, tomato, and cheese. Next time I would get the cheese. :eek:

 

 

Now we got to the Lido Deck around 10:00 and this is pretty much how it looked after we ate...

 

 

 

It's a busy place.

My DD 19 just got a real tattoo (i can't really complain..I have a couple and her mom has one )

 

Like your DD hers has something to do with a name we call her , so it does have some meaning and not just some passing fancy she will regret the rest of her life .

 

Your DD seems like a lovely girl , (mine too) If a tattoo is the worst thing they ever do, we are way ahead of the game :)

Well, It's time to lay out in the sunshine... Cloudy sunshine. But that's ok, we're on a cruise, I'm just ready to lay out...

 

Rae wanted to hang out at the Lido Deck today instead of the nice quite Sky Pool...

 

Remember I just knew Rae would want to sit, read and relax with me...

 

What was I thinking!!!!!!

 

So we found us a place on the deck... Here's our view!!!!

 

 

She hurried to the room and I started scoping out another place to sit...

 

Found us a better view...

 

 

We could see all the action here... Isn't she adorable...

 

Funny thing happened... In the background of this picture sits a young man with really bleached blonde hair and when he spotted Rae he yelled "Jackpot"

 

She didn't hear it but I did and I thought it was really weird that he said that...

More on that later...

 

 

 

Guess What????

 

Yes we laid in the sun for a few minutes then it was

 

"Hey Mom, let's walk around and see if we can find Royce and Donna..."

 

Needless to say, I had really had enough of getting up and down and my legs were tired....

 

So I said you go find them...

 

MOM, I can't go by myself...

 

Yes you can.... Your a big girl.... You can do it. I'll be right here.

 

She went all by herself..... I'm so proud of her.....

Not to much...Booze in your cruise....

 

I want to try the St Thomas, St Marteen etc. But on Freedom of the Sea.. It also goes to Coco Cay... I've only sailed on Carnival and RCCL looks really nice to... Maybe one day!!!

 

I do love the Western itinerary with Grand Cayman. We had a great time at Reef Grill. This is there website and it has a webcam on it that you can see all beach with lots of people plus the ships and lots of other cool stuff... Check it out... Just enter the site... Then on the left side look for beach webcam and click it and watch the webcam come up... This is where we ate lunch and spent the day swimming and soaking up the sun...

South of Houston...

 

It's right on I-45 which leads you down to Galveston... It's kind of hard to get to because of where it's located. It's on the North bound side of I-45 and sits behind a few buildings and faces another street. Once you find it it's easy to get to... It's about 30 minutes from Galveston but really close to Hobby Airport. Probably about 10 minutes... It's only about 3 years old. The rooms are very nice... But remember no Texas Waffles...:D

More from Day 3...

 

Let me fill you in a few details of this day...

 

It's called up and down, up and down, to the sky pool and back, to the sky pool and back again. I will tell you I was getting a little frustrated... She just didn't want to stay in one place... This was the first time that I really wish I would have brought a friend for her... You know when you have your BF with you you always have a really good wing men and I'm not a good wing men for her, I'm not interested in meeting boys, so it was getting really boring to her. Rae had her eye on a couple of really cute boys but just didn't know how to meet them... I didn't know what to do for her... Now don't get me wrong, she was having a really good time with me, she just really wanted to meet these boys too.

So as the morning went on I sat in the sun on Deck 10, Lido area for a couple of hours... It was really nice to sit, read and visit with my new friend. Rae was up and down and really wanted to find Royce and Donna... Finally she found them and they were in the same place that they were the day before so off we went to sit with them...

 

It was about 1:30 and my tummy was saying it's time for some lunch and again we did the chicken, french fries (Rae), and chips and hot sause (me)... she's a very picky eater... After lunch we were back up on the sports deck laying in the sun. The clouds were still pretty thick but the sun was shinning through.

 

Right after we finished lunch and headed back up to our chairs Royce and Donna decided to go inside to take a nap so Rae and I headed down to Sky Pool. I was so glad... I love the Sky Pool...

 

The Sky pool was hopping but not as bad as the day before. Along cam Manny and I ordered me the DOTD, which came in the Whale's Tail...Caribbean Breeze... It was yummy, after we got the Whale's Tail we just ordered it in a regular glass. While we sat by the pool our table mates came up, so it was fun to sit and visit with them for the rest of the afternoon.

 

We stayed at the pool til around 4:30 and it was time to get back to our room and get ready for dinner....

 

We got ready a little early, so we headed down to the Promenade... It's really neat to walk from the shops through the casino area all the way to the aft...It's like a little Boulevard... "Impressionist Boulevard" to be exact...

Finally it was time to head down to the Lobby Deck, Deck 3 Monet... DINNER TIME!!!

 

Today was a fun day at the Sky Pool with our table mates so Rae and I were looking forward to having dinner with them tonight... They are such a fabulous family!!!!

 

Our Waitstaff was fabulous too... We had Jan Carlos, Juan and Daniel... They were fabuloussssss. So funny too, but they worked their heart out. Always remembered our names and what we drank (iced tea) and Jan Carlos - We called him Brad Pitt...

 

 

They were so funny!!!!

 

We really enjoyed having dinner in the main dining room. It was the best...

 

Time to head in for dinner... Everyone waiting to get in.

Food Time!!!!

 

Juan put our napkins in our laps and handed us our menus and we said we just want the dessert menu...

 

Jan Carlos said "No dinner, No Dessert"

 

Dang it... So time to look over the menu...

 

Rae and I both had Shrimp Cocktail...

 

 

Rae and I both ordered Pork Tenderloin...

 

Sorry, we forgot to take a picture before we started eating... Although it was so YUMMY!!!!!

 

Christy - our table mates DIL, ordered some kind of Shrimp pasta red sauce something and it looked so good, so she ended up passing it all around for everyone to try. Rae loved it and she was about half way through with her tenderloin and she decided that she wanted the pasta something so Jan Carlos brought her out the Pasta Yummy!!!

 

 

Dinner was fabulous.... It was really the best...

If you've been to dinner in the MDR, then you will remember that the waitstaff performs everynight. It's very entertaining... They are always so cute to watch...
