acpcruiser Posted July 13, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 13, 2011 Does anyone know if on the Sun doing a B2B if we will have to get off the ship in between cruises and if we'll have to pack up if we are staying in the same room?
valleyvillage Posted July 13, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2011 ...according to what I read on these boards. Sometimes they escort you off and on before boarding the new pax. Sometimes you don't leave the ship. I have never heard of having to pack up the room if you are in the same room. Enjoy!
acpcruiser Posted July 13, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted July 13, 2011 Hope that is true. We intend to enjoy a 2 week vacation in warm sunny weather and being waited on hand and foot.
tdcjerry Posted July 13, 2011 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2011 We had to get off the Pearl in Miami on a B2B for about 30 minutes, then back to the same cabin. In Venice not only did we not have to get off the Gem, we changed suites and had the butlers move all our luggage to the new suite while we walked around the ship. I guess it's the country or port that makes the rules.
springhills Posted July 13, 2011 #5 Share Posted July 13, 2011 We were on B2B on the Sun last November. Those of us who were staying on the ship met in the main lobby. After the other passengers had disembarked, we were walked off the ship and into the terminal. Our whole group walked out the exit and right back through the entrance. We were taken to a seating area in the terminal where we remained for about 45 minutes. We were then allowed to return to the ship before regular boarding started. We walked around the almost-empty ship for a bit and then went to II Adagio for lunch. A few B2B passengers DID leave the ship for tours, etc. Since we live in Florida we didn’t bother . (You will not have to pack if you’re staying in the same cabin.)
garycarla Posted July 13, 2011 #6 Share Posted July 13, 2011 You will get some good answers, and some wrong answers. Very few will distinguish between cruises that come and go in the USA and various foreign ports. Rules vary based on where they ship has been, and where it is going. Good luck trying to get the correct answer.
acpcruiser Posted July 14, 2011 Author #7 Share Posted July 14, 2011 I called NCL to ask them the same question and was told it could go either way so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. We leave out of PC and go to the western and then return to go to the eastern. Would be nice just to hang out on the ship without getting off. STARFISH*4 Posted July 14, 2011 #8 Share Posted July 14, 2011 we didnt have to last December. you dont pack up if you are in the same cabin--the stewards know who is going and staying. it was like having the ship all to yourself:)

Because you are coming and going from a US port, you WILL have to disembark, but since you are in the same cabin you will leave your stuff there. You will meet at an assigned place, then walk off and go through Customs. After the ship and crew are cleared by US Customs you will be escorted back on before anyone else boards. This is the correct answer, trust me...

This is the correct answer, trust me... on the SUN we went to the OBSERVATION LOUNGE they checked our passports and we were FREE to do WHATEVER--we never got off the ship. Mooloo Posted July 16, 2011 #11 Share Posted July 16, 2011 on the SUN we went to the OBSERVATION LOUNGE they checked our passports and we were FREE to do WHATEVER--we never got off the ship. This is what happened on our B2B on the Pearl, but on the Dawn we had to get off and og through customs before coming back on board. Either way, unless you're moving cabins you don't have to touch your stuff
