Been gone for a while...

but due to major withdrawal, we booked, so of course it was back to CC for me. :)

So we're doing the Triumph in November. New ship for us (yay!), but only 5 days (boo!). Panorama balcony (yay!), but only 5 days (boo!)... lol.

Anyway, it's good to see some familiar names still around. And it's soooo good to have a countdown clock again. :D

Anyone with any good tidbits on the Triumph, I'm all ears.

Good for you for at least having something booked. Been on the Triumph (years ago) - had an aft balcony. I prefer the Fantasy or Conquest class ships. Seems on the Triumph only more passengers/cabins and the same amount of common space areas. I'm afraid to even remotely give you MHO (flaming, yikes); but even having a cruise booked is better than NO cruise booked. Have Fun! C.

Well, since you have been gone from CC, let me update you on what has been discussed:

-People are upset that others smuggle alcohol on board and believe they are breaking the rules, causing everyone else to pay more, and will have to suffer come judgment day.

-People smuggle alcohol on board so they can enjoy liquor in their cabins. Oftentimes their bar tabs are higher than non-drinkers.

-Some people are highly offended at the idea of people dressing too casually in the MDR.

-Some people don't really care what others wear and it does not impact their cruise experience at all.

-Everybody hates chair hogs, yet nobody on this board is one.

-There is some spirited debate about smokers and their rights to smoke on board the ship.

-Some people are never sailing [insert cruise line here] because everything didn't go exactly as planned and [insert cruise line here] did not compensate them enough.

-Some people are curious if [insert cruise line here] is better than [insert cruise line here]. Some agree wholeheartedly others disagree vehemently.

I believe that covers about 90% of posts since you have been gone.

We sailed on the Triumph Christmas of '09. Having been on the Conquest twice before sailing on the Triumph, I felt like we were missing some areas of the ship. Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed the Triumph; she is a lovely ship. That wasn't very helpful was it? :o

Thanks, happy cruzin. It's good to be back.

cdamion, sounds like nothing much has changed since I've been gone. Those debates will go on forever. :)

Texarribean Chick, (love that name!) you're absolutely right, ANY cruise booked is better than no cruise booked. I would be happy in steerage if it meant I was at sea.

Good to see you, Host Mach. I can't believe you have another Crazies cruise coming up... :p. Seriously, though, I see where you were ill recently. I hope you're getting better and better every day.

GayleR, we've been on Conquest twice also (my favorite so far), but also on Elation and Ecstasy, so we're used to the smaller ships as well. That was before the Conquest, though, so we'll just have to wait and see if we feel the same as you about the Triumph. As long as the lido deck and my balcony aren't the parts that are missing, I should be good. :D

The Triumph will be going into dry dock before she comes to Galveston. I'm hoping some of those missing elements will be in place then.

Yeah, the tipping threads are always reliable, too. :)

About this dry dock, I've done some searching but can't find anything about what is being done... I am REALLY hoping for the serenity area, but have heard the dry dock won't be long enough for that to happen. Does anyone know?

I just booked 5 days Triumph in Nov too, wonder if its the same ship?

I was thinking it actually was the most Iv ever paid for a 5 day.

.. I was getting cruise booking withdrawals. I swear I do get them and just have to book something .. wasnt even planning on it .. but something kept saying, book book book.

yes, you go upstairs from the buffet on Triumph, where one has the steak place and the other has Sur Mer.

on Triumph .. nothing .. just chairs and tables. Im hoping for fish and chips and not the steak house.

-Can I...?

-Where is...?

-What happened to the parties with free booze?

I've been on the Triumph several times (when it was in Miami) - always had a cabin on the Panorama deck! My favorite location on that class and the Conquest class! I really loved that ship! :D

Oops - had a Lido deck balcony once (after checked my sig)

You missed the tipping threads.icon7.gif

AND the I received this postcard in the mail offering a free 8 day cruise. Is this legitimate thread. Lol.

Welcome back Rockportgirl. We aren't cruising till next year, but at least I have one booked! Have a great cruise. I love the Triumph by the way.

Wow, Firefly. That's quite the line-up of cruises you have coming up! *jealous* :)

We're November 12. Is that the one you're on?

Kathy, I'm excited about the panorama deck.- we've never been on that one before. I actually thought I was booking lido, and they wouldn't let me change because that's considered a downgrade. The more I read about it, the better I think I did, though. :D

Debster, I've booked a cruise that far out before. It's TORTURE! But the good kind. lol

I just booked for Nov 7th, so I will wave to you as I am getting off the Triumph.

I didnt want to cut it too close to Oasis on Nov 26th, flying in Nov 25th.

I was looking for Oct, but with all the ship swapping going on , just wasnt having any luck. I know this is really a tad too close together. I hadnt booked a cruise in 2 months so I start getting booking withdrawals.

congrats on your booking a nice deck.

I think you have a great cabin - even if it was an error :D here's why:

There aren't as many cabins on that deck so it is for the most part very quiet up there!

You are steps away from the elevators and right down the hall you have your own exit to the hot tub and lido deck!

I love being hig up so I can see everything! Enjoy!

The casino was also good to us but I'm not making any promises! Especially the wheel of fortune - although it's been awhile so all of the machines could be changed out by now.

Yes, it's smaller than the Conquest class but bigger than Fantasy or Destiny! Makes for an awesome cruise!:D
