cruzluvers Posted July 22, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 22, 2011 Can anyone recommend a good tour guide for our Biarritz/Saint Jean-de-Luz stop? If you didn't use a guide, what did you do in that area (bus, taxi, etc)? We would also like to get out to Bayonne. Any suggestions?
TERRIER1 Posted July 22, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 22, 2011 Unfortunately our stop at St Jean de luz was missed due to choppy water. The tenders were bouncing so the captain made a decision not to anchor and we had a sea day instead. As I recall from my research and plans, St Jean de Luz is a lovely town just to hang around in. You can also take the bus to Biarritz and wander around there if you need more variety. The buses, if memory serves me, run pretty frequently between St Jean de Luz and Biarritz. Paulchili Posted July 22, 2011 #3 Share Posted July 22, 2011 We visited that area but on a land trip. If you want to see all those places (and they are fun) you might consider renting a car for the day; for more limited touring you can use the local buses as recommended above. HawkeyeCruisr Posted July 22, 2011 #4 Share Posted July 22, 2011 I was on the same cruise as Terrier1 so never got into St-Jean. During my pre-cruise research for the port I found that you can rent cars only (4-5 pax) in St-Jean but not vehicles big enough to accommodate 6 people.
