Will be arriving In GC in September. We want to go go 7 mile beach, rent a lounge chair with pool facilities so we snorkle, swim and spend the day on the beach. Are there any hotels etc that allow pool facilties and chairs to non guests for a fee? Thanks

I don't know about hotels but Royal Palms has lounge chairs/umbrellas and they have a pool (for guests 18 and up). We went there in May and absolutely loved it. It was our favorite experience of our cruise. The sand was beautiful and the water was perfect.

Very few of the hotels offer day passes at all, and those that have offered them on occasion don't seem to let you book them in advance and usually won't guarantee they'll necessarily be available when you get there. Your best bet is likely to be one of the beach clubs that welcome cruise ship visitors.

Your best areas of SMB are likely to be Royal Palms, Sea Grape or Tiki Beach. A taxi from the port to these sections is about $4-6 pp each way. The snorkeling is only mediocre, but they have excellent free facilities, a restaurant/beach bar, and rental chairs/umbrellas/watersports. Royal Palms also has a pool, and their website has webcams so you can check the place out in advance - http://www.reefgrill.net

If part of the group still wants to snorkel after you're done at the beach, there is good snorkeling available about a 5-10 minute walk to the right of the port area, at Eden Rock. There's no beach there, but there is a restaurant where the non-snorkelers could have a drink in the shade while they wait, or much of the downtown shopping is right across the street.
