Shopping In PV and Cabo

Opposite the cruise terminal in P. Vallarta you will see the Galleria Mall with Liverpool as leading shop. Next to this is Walmart and Sams.

But if you want more local shops take a bus or cab to the streets behind Malecon in the centre of PVR.

There are also "flea markets" as you get of the ship/tender in both ports. In PV you won't tender - in the area that you dock is a fairly good sized flea market to explore. Just walk through the terminal and ask someone to point you in that direction. In Cabo, when you get off the tender, there is a large building with a flea market in it. Again, ask to be pointed in the direction.

If you have specific items you are looking for perhaps you can post them and get some responses to places that would be good for those items.

Enjoy your cruise.

In Cabo, if you go past the flea market there is a large we-have-every-mexican-tourist-trinket store. Everything is plainly marked with a price (no haggling).

In PV, as mentioned there is a small flea market in the terminal area (outside the gate). Better yet, grab a yellow taxi and tell them to take you to Hotel Rosita (s/b ~$6US). That is the north end of the malecon. From there walk south - lots to see and do and plenty of shopping. When you get to the river, turn inland and follow the walkway next to the river, lots of shopping along here. When you get to the bridge, walk up the stairs and turn left. There you will find a HUGE indoor flea market. Meander your way back towards the ocean and about three or four more blocks of shops. This area is PV's main tourist shopping area, lots of people. (If you keep walking past the river on the malecon you will come to a palapa restaraunt called Burro's. Ice cold beer with your toes in the sand, mmmmmm.)

Sorry I rambled, couldn't help myself.

Here's a Wikimapia map of Cabo. Zoom in and out as needed.

Ships anchor in the bay on the right, tender to the docks near Dock 4.

Puerto Paraiso Plaza is a big mall with lots of shops. It's a 15 or 20 minute walk from the tender dock to the mall.

Hang a left at Tesoro Los Cabo to Paseo del La Marina Blvd. and there are lots of shops along the way.

When you get off the tender boats you will make a right and it will be about 100yds directly in front of you. You can't miss it. I think it says Marina Mercado on the front (a couple of letters are missing from the sign)

Cabo is a very small town and you can easily walk the whole thing. It is much better to avoid the flea markets and any of the shops near the tender piers because as soon as the ship pulls in, the prices double or more! Much better to walk a few blocks into town and onto the side streets. You can get the same merchandise for a fraction of the price.

Yes we´ve been before and walked down to the shopping mall than back through thro´ town but never found anything of interest. Next year we´re going whale watching, so need to get a quick shopping fix on the way back to the tender.

Yes, you really need to stay away from the malls and the main streets in town. Walk a few blocks back from the main streets, venture onto the less busy side streets and the shops and restuarants are so much better and the prices too!
