oliviaik Posted July 30, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2011 Okay, we are trying to decide upon our excursions at Grand Cayman. We like the sound of the Captain Marvin's excursions, but we are not sure which to do. We love the sound of the full day--conch dive, snorkeling at two spots, stingray city, & lunch. The half-day has the snorkeling and stingray city, but no conch dive or lunch. However, with the half-day we could also do the island tour that includes the turtle farm, hell, and a couple other island stops. Which do you recommend? Full day without island tour or half day with island tour? Thanks for your help!
Grandpaul Posted July 31, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 31, 2011 I would recommend the half day. I wasn't impressed with the Turtle farm or Hell. Do some shopping right off the pier. You're going to Love Capt. Marvins tour. I'm doing it again in November. I was talking to him last year when I was there and he's in his 90's now and he told me the Doctor told him to slow down. Yeah okay.
Sparky2011 Posted August 2, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 2, 2011 We did the half day with our daughter a couple years ago and had a great time. We loved the crew from Captain Marvins.
Grandpaul Posted August 2, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 2, 2011 Here's a couple pics from Capt. Marvins tour. The second pic is the difference between what I do on ships and what my cousins do. Big difference.
oliviaik Posted August 2, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted August 2, 2011 So, if the Turtle Farm & Hell aren't that impressive, is the conch dive & lunch worth it? Or should we just do the half day and do something on our own afterwards?
Grandpaul Posted August 3, 2011 #6 Share Posted August 3, 2011 I haven't done the conch dive so I can't say about that.
