JDsafeman Posted August 4, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2011 We have been there 3 times. The first time snorkeling was with a guided group but the last two times we went on our own. We brought our own gear so we just went into the water on our own. Unless their policy has changed you do not have to wear a life vest. We saw others snorkeling. Some had vests, some did not. It has been 9 months since we were there. Maybe someone else can make a more recent report.
#1TravelMom Posted August 4, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2011 We were just there a few weeks ago. If you go into the water you must wear a life vest. They are free - you just have to give them your driver's license to hold. No one forces you to inflate it, but you must have it on. There is, however, a problem with this mandatory life vest policy - they do not have enough for everyone on a busy day. We saw plenty of upset people who didn't have vests but wanted to snorkel. tandemcruzr Posted August 12, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 12, 2011 Beers reasonable. This past January, if memory serves, Mexican beer was $2.50 - $3.50 US.
