imacruizer Posted August 3, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 3, 2011 I'm sure you know that QM2 cabin 6239 is a sheltered balcony. There are numerous threads (including photos) about the "sheltered" or "in hull" balconies. Many passengers like them very much. The cabin in question is very close to the D Stairwell (Aft) on the QM2. Again, some people choose cabins near the stairs and elevators for the convenience. Others prefer to have a cabin away from those areas. That is a personal choice. The only negative about your cabin is that it is below the walking/jogging track on Deck 7. Some have reported noise from runners on the track. It bothers some passengers. Others report no issues at all with that. I always recommend that passengers consider sheltered balconies on either Deck 4 or 5 if possible. That eliminates the problem of noise from joggers. Have you been assigned this cabin? Do you have the choice of other cabins? I'm sure you will have a fabulous voyage on the QM2! She is an amazing ship!
welshgirl001 Posted August 4, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2011 Any comments-positive or negative would be appreciated. Thanks very much. We were in cabin 6285. Loved the location, no noise that i noticed anyway. Really handy for the laundrerette. I liked to go through the door at the end of hall past the kiddie pool and up the 2 flights of stairs (good excercise:D) to the pool on deck 8. No wandering through ship in swim wear.
