Escape to the med

Has anyone recently been on Escape to the Med ? On the Thompson site it states they do a trip to Capri. Just received our ticket/excursion book and it's not included?

Thanks

It's anybody's guess. They can do what they like with the itinerary, we were looking forward to going to La Spezia and did all the research only to find on boarding that they were going to Livorno instead. That meant we went to Florence the day after Rome and incurred a lot more expense than we budgeted for. We had a great day there but they could have emailed us in advance, strange though, when we mentioned it to other passengers we just got a lot of blank looks, none of them seemed to know where they were going on the itinerary. That's why Thomson get away with it, no one ever seems to be bothered. They also changed Nice to Villefranche which wasn't so bad as it's just next door.

It may be you will be able to go to Capri under your own steam, so might be worth doing a bit of research before you go....or make sure you go to the 'Port talks' given by the Excursion team usually on first sea day...where they will give you loads of advice on doing things independently....remember to take pen and a piece of paper !!:)

Hi- they certainly had the Capri excursion when we were onboard last month- quite dear at £49 each, but not sure how many people booked it. I know we booked a trip in Palma but not enough people so it was cancelled. There were more trips available when we got on the ship than were listed in the ticket booklet.

It's easy enough to get to Capri on your own, just bear in mind it gets very crowded, long queues for the funicular down to the harbour, so you would need to allow plenty of time.

The ticket booklet does not show all the trips available, just a selection, there will be plenty more available at the port talks meeting on your first day.
