Amburn Posted August 13, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2011 Hi everyone, My husband and I will be going on our second cruise, BUT the FIRST trip EVER without the kids. We will be the only ship in Freeport on 2/1/12. Sooo, having said that, I am willing to pay up for a beach day simply because it is so rare that we are ever alone and I want to savor every second of it, but I do want to get the most for my money. So, which beach pass might give us the most quiet beach with the fewest people? Thanks for your suggestions. :)
LoveByrds Posted September 3, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 3, 2011 Junkanoo Beach and My Lucaya seem to be popular on these boards. We went to Junkanoo beach by accident. We didn't see much else to do other then swim and relax, which turned out to be nice. Beach chairs were $5 each and came with an umbrella. We never did order food or drinks. It was beautiful, although it sounds like you might be happier elsewhere to savor alone time with your hubby :D
SteelerCruiser Posted September 8, 2011 #3 Share Posted September 8, 2011 Junkanoo Beach is actually in Nassau but here is what we do when in Freeport... take a taxi/van into Our Lucaya($5 pp each way). plenty of shopping and eating and casino to go along with the wonderful beach! There is a public Beach Access near the police station where you can gte access to the same beach they will try to charge you $30 to access near the casino. Love Freeport but you have to get away from the pier area as the ship will dock in an industrial ship yard. being the only ship in port the Beach shouldn't be too crowded at all. There is a junkanoo beach club in freeport and its 5 to rent a chair and you get to use the non-motorized equipment and the food is not real expensive. Trying to figure out the transportation. Actually called the Junkanoo Beach Club today and they said they are contracted with Carnival, so they won't let us in unless we are booked on a ship's excursion!!! Wonder if we 'accidentily' show up if they'll give us a hard time. :D
