Yet another tip question

When we go on land vacations, we always leave a small tip each day for the housekeeping staff because it isn't always the same person who cleans your room. I don't remember if we did that on our cruise last year. The room stewart or his assistant is the one that does the cleaning of the rooms so if we leave a small daily tip for housekeeping, will it be going to them?

Yes they will get it but you do know they are part of the tipping pool of 10.00 per day right?

You do know you are leaving a set amount per day in the $10 pp per day tips too?

 

If you tip on top of the $10 auto tip, your cabin steward, yes he gets to keep it.

 

If you were to remove the auto tips is when they share it.

But unlike a land vacation, your room steward will not change. Unless he or she becomes sick, the same person you see on day one will be the same person you see on day end of cruise. You can save up the additional tips to give them on the last night or last morning.

Thanks for the replies. It just ocurred to me today that they already were getting tipped. I'll probably give them something extra but I don't have to leave something every day. That will be less cash that I need to bring.
