Freedom Balcony Light

The last time I was on Carnival Freedom was Christmas 2010. I was in cabin 1030 and my balcony light did not work for the entire cruise. But it wasn't just mine, as far as I could tell, none of the balcony lights were on. I asked and was told that it was for security purposes. Anyone have any idea? Are they by any chance working now?

I have never had the balcony light work in any of my rooms. It kind of irritates me because I am a late night reader.

On the other thread going about putting lights on your balcony, someone said they turned them off at night for security reasons.

 

Most people who are neighbors prefer it that way too, so I hope they keep them off myself.

We have only noticed this once. I dropped something on the floor and tried to turn the light on to help me see. Light didn't come on so I felt arounf until I found what I was looking for. We generally just sit on the balcony and have a glass of wine and look out at God's wonderfull creation in awe, so we don't need the light (unless I get clumsy and drop something again).:D
