Parking at Bayonne

Parking is $19/day, so depending on how long your cruise is, it might be less expensive to come up/over the night before and do a stay/cruise in a hotel with free shuttle.

It does not appear there is any special deal for HC parking...But you don't really need a HC spot, as you will pull up by the terminal, unload baggage and passengers and then one person can go park the vehicle. After checking in, you board a bus to the ship. EM

Hi, we've been to Bayonne 3 times and are getting ready for a fourth. As far as handicapped parking #1) No discount from the $19/night. (BTW across the river in NYC parking is $35/night) but there is a special parking area for h/c right next to the terminal. Procedure is to drop your bags at the terminal and then drive around to the parking lot. If you have your hang tag displayed, or tell the attendants they will direct you to the h/c parking area. #2) The shuttle buses are all w/c equipped with ramps and special tie-down sections. You will be directed by personnel to the head of the line for the next bus.

DW uses a scooter that we bring with us when we drive from Pittsburgh. We pull up to the terminal and into a stall where porters assist with the luggage and scooter, if needed. DW then scoots off to do the security check in and waits for me in the terminal. I go park the car and join her, about 10 to 15 min max. We then go to RCI check in, special line for h/c and, once cleared, go to the boarding line and load on the next available bus.

If you are renting a scooter, you will pickup the wheelchair escort at the terminal drop-off and be escorted to the ship. Once on the ship you will be taken to the Windjammer, or what ever public area you ask. From there you, or one of your party, can go to the cabin and pick-up the scooter/wheelchair. You may not be able to get access to the cabin until all are cleared. I was able to get the scooter early on Oasis and that is all I did as they were still attending to the cabins.

If you are sailing Explorer of the Seas you will love this ship and her crew.

Enjoy your cruise.
