Cabs are really easy and relatively cheap. The cab fare from the main hotel area/Las Ramblas to the port was about 20 euros.

My favorite hotel is 1898--great location, amenities, etc., but pricey. Hotel Pulitzer is nearby and less expensive, gets good reviews.
