sail-a-bration Posted August 30, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2011 I ordered the bud cooler bag from BV the come warm. Is it possible to take and unopened warm beer to a bar and ask for a cold one?
golfadj Posted August 30, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 30, 2011 Never heard of anyone doing that.
kcparrothead Posted August 30, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 30, 2011 I'd just ask for a bucket of ice.
DocF Posted August 30, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 30, 2011 I suspect the bucket of ice is the best answer. If I did swap out warm for cold, I would feel obligated to drop a buck or two to the bartender. Doc
Roscoe13 Posted August 30, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 30, 2011 Yes, you can exchange them with me. The exchange rate is 2 warms for 1 cold. Gratuity not included.
photojunkieEMT Posted August 30, 2011 #6 Share Posted August 30, 2011 The ones you ordered will be cold. I ordered one for my brother and it was on ice when we arrived in our rooms (my cousin's Cokes were cold too). Our room steward was great to keep them cold until they were gone. kujobie Posted August 30, 2011 #7 Share Posted August 30, 2011 I've ordered that item several times and it's never been on ice when I got it. Warm and wrapped in plastic.
parrothead74 Posted August 30, 2011 #8 Share Posted August 30, 2011 They will ice them up for you. I have gotten a leaky cooler though, by day 3 you could have a puddle if you don't finish your cokes. Beer never lasts till day three. I bring a sticky note and leave it on the mirror to remind the cabin steward to ice it up every day.
Wildgrits Posted August 30, 2011 #9 Share Posted August 30, 2011 Yes you can exchange them. I ordered a bucket of Stellas and they were so skunky that I only drank one. I went to the closest bar and switched the other three out for other beers. I had no problem and the bartender didn't even flinch about it. They were getting warm also as it took me a long time to down the one I had. This was on the Victory in January.
girlscruise2011 Posted August 30, 2011 #10 Share Posted August 30, 2011 Never thought of exchanging them. I wanted to buy this to have in my room for the sail away party but thought they wouldn't be cold enough. I may buy it now if I can exchange them for cold ones at the bar. Good idea. Hopefully others will come back to confirm this.
beerman2 Posted August 30, 2011 #11 Share Posted August 30, 2011 If you want them for Sail Away Party you will have plenty of time to go to the bar and get a bucket Iced Down and take back to your cabin.

Kalista Posted August 31, 2011 #13 Share Posted August 31, 2011 I haven't been on a cruise (yet), but I'm surprised at the question and the answers. Any restaurant or bar ANYWHERE that has served a flat or warm beer would get the beer sent back (politely of course). WHy on earth would it be different on a cruise? It's unopened, you paid for a cold one, get a cold one. Edited to add: I didn't realize you brought your own. . . so forget what I said above. I would say the answer is NO. lol. Its the beer ordered through Bon Voyage...through Carnival. Its a gift delivery service to the cabin and the beer comes warm.
