slou0122 Posted September 2, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2011 Hi, I am trying to decide between River Wallace Altun Ha ruins and Lamanai ruin with New River Cruise for our family of 4. My son is almost 3, therefore the most sensible choice would be Altun Ha because it's significantly shorter. But I don't want to miss out the fun with the other longer ruin tour which entails an exciting river adventure. I guess I am willing to take the risk of longer trip with Lamanai. What do you guys think? It's our first time cruise, so no experience with a toddler whatsoever. Another question is what is the best/cheapest way to book? I found pn http://belizecruiseexcursions.com/ it's $75 for Lamanai tour. Is it the standard price? I remembered there is somewhere I can go to find people with same intent and book as a group to save. Is it possible with this particular tour? and where to start? Rare crewsweeper Posted September 2, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 2, 2011 Lamanai for a 3 yr old will be a long day. While some cruisers make it back to the ship in time, it's a risk using a private company. go with your instincts and do Altun Ha.
CorvetteLady Posted September 2, 2011 #3 Share Posted September 2, 2011 We have done the Altun Ha & River Wallace tour twice. They are very nice ruins. The tours we did used a jet boat for the river part, it was very exciting, they would slow down when there was anything interesting to see. I think you would enjoy this tour. airlink diva Posted September 2, 2011 #4 Share Posted September 2, 2011 I'm enroute to port fot my sailing. I'm booked on the Lamani tour with the vendor mentioned. This the price the all but two vendors were charging. The others were over $100. I will be giving a full review about the tour. As for a 3 year old, you know how your child how much he can handle. Some kids can do a all day tour and others can barely handle a one hour tour.
